Montessori Hedgehog Toddler Toy – Colors & Numbers

A friendly hedgehog with colorful quills to pull out and push back in, again and again. A simple game that keeps little hands busy while introducing colors and the numbers 0 to 9.

Why you'll love it

• Fine motor practice: gripping, pulling and inserting the quills builds finger strength and hand-eye coordination.
• Color recognition: each hole on the back has a colored rim, and the child matches a quill of the same color.
• Number recognition: every quill is embossed with a number from 0 to 9, with the matching number shown next to each hole.
• Several ways to play: sort by color, match by number, count, or simply pull out and put back.
• No batteries or electronics, and lightweight, so it's easy to take along on visits or trips.

How to use it

Start with all the quills out and show your child how to place a quill in the hole of the same color. Later, ask them to find a specific number, count the quills together, or sort them by color. When playtime is over, put all the quills back into the hedgehog so they stay together.
